Al Khafji Joint Operations Hospital (KJO Hospital)
provides health care services to Aramco Gulf Operations
and Kuwait Gulf Oil Company (Al Khafji Joint Operations)
employees and dependants.
Additionally it provides services to government
employees and Ministry of Health referrals, including
local Saudi and Kuwaiti patients.
The first patients were admitted in 1996. Saudi
Medicare Company (SMC), the parent company for United
Medical, has had the management contract for hospital
operations since January 2004.
• Hospital Profile
Construction of the current hospital commenced in
1995 and opened on 14 February 1998. Presently it
is one of the more prestigious facilities in the Kingdom.

• The ICU capacity was doubled in 2005, as was
the unit’s functional capacity to manage admissions
as a result of a disaster.
In addition to Primary Care Services, a full range
of secondary care services are provided, including
General Surgery, Surgical Subspecialties, Internal
Medicine, ER, ICU, NICU, O&G, Paediatrics and
Dental.
The hospital staffing is broadly categorized as:

- 250 Paramedical and Support Personnel
The clinicians and nurses work in a structured team
medical management environment, providing services
for:
• 7,000 Inpatient Admissions per annum
• 80,000 Outpatient visits per annum (including
the Emergency Department).
